Help students familiarize themselves with their AAC systems while practicing the core verb HELP. This activity supports students as they learn to find vocabulary, build 1–3 word phrases, and communicate using AAC, their communication system, verbal expression, or a combination of these. Drill: HELP This deck features 26 animals in silly 2-slide scenes. On the first slide, the animal is walking while distracted by a cell phone and not paying attention to where it is going. On the second slide—uh-oh!—the animal has fallen into a hole, with only its head, tail, arm, or leg sticking out. Words and phrases to target: help, me help, dog help, I help dog, need help, no phone, help dog in, etc. These silly scenes encourage students to describe what happened and practice words and phrases using HELP. Students can respond using AAC, their communication system, verbal expression, or a combination of these. There is nothing to click.
