Description: This is the first of two 42-card decks that let students practice combining sentences with the words because, so, and but. There are two types of cards in the deck. One type of card provides a sentence stem (Jack was tired because...) and gives the student a choice of two ways to complete the sentence. The second type of card provides a complete sentence but requires the student to choose the conjunction that best completes the sentence (Jack was tired ___ he went to bed early.) Students must consider how the conjunctions but, because, and so reflect the meaning of the two sentences they are combining. The two sets can also be purchased as a bundle at a discount.
