Directions/Purpose: This activity teaches and provides the opportunity for practice applying comparative and superlative word structures to adjectives. Students drag the word to the appropriate picture. There are specific correct answers, but there may be some conversation around these pictures. For example, a student might look at the pictures of horse, elephant, and whale, and have difficulty choosing big, bigger, biggest since the pictures are similar in size. But this will help to further their understanding because you will be explaining and discussing why one might be louder, heavier, brighter, etc.
