Practicing determining the FIRST step in mental subtraction and click it! This fantastic game doesn't ask students to subtract, but it asks student to think about what they should subtract. It helps students learn to break up larger, two digit numbers into tens and ones in order to subtract mentally; it also provides practice recognizing how much to subtract from the ones' place when there is only one digit being subtracted. 50% of the questions have equations with two-digit numbers being subtracted, and 50% have one-digit numbers being subtracted.
