This 40-card scavenger hunt will teach your students interesting facts about Jupiter. While completing the hunt, students will learn how Jupiter was named, how its size compares to the size of Earth, how powerful its winds are, and more. To complete the hunt, students answer 19 true/false statements. To determine if a state is true or false, they read a passage where the answer is found. If they choose the correct answer, they will advance to the next statement. If they choose the wrong answer, they can return to the passage to see why they answered incorrectly. As students progress through the scavenger hunt a picture of Jupiter with three of its moons is revealed. The final card in the deck requires students to write 3 interesting facts they learned about Jupiter. It can be used as to supplement a study of the solar system, a science activity, to build background for a story, practice for reading informational text, a center, or as an easy activity for a sub.
