Description

Help students think beyond an immediate reaction and look at the facts of a situation before deciding whether something is fair or unfair. This interactive Boom Cards deck includes 30 realistic social scenarios involving school, games, peers, classroom expectations, sports, rewards, consequences, and everyday social situations. On each card, students drag the scenario into one of three categories: Fair-The rules were followed, everyone was treated consistently, or the same expectation was applied fairly. Unfair-A rule was broken, someone received an inappropriate advantage, or another person was treated unfairly. Not Enough Information-There are missing facts, only one side of the story is known, or the student cannot determine what really happened yet. The deck intentionally includes situations in which students may be tempted to make a quick judgment. This helps teach that something can feel unfair without there being enough information to know whether it actually was unfair. This resource can also be used to discuss safe and appropriate responses when students believe something is unfair. What’s Included - 30 interactive social scenario cards (10 of each) - Drag-and-drop response format - Realistic school-age images - Consistent visual definitions for all three categories - Self-checking Boom Cards format - Accessibility text for visual elements Skills Targeted - Fairness - Social reasoning - Perspective taking - Critical thinking - Identifying missing information
