Description: Are you looking for ways to help your students practice using measuring cups to improve their cooking skills? This activity provides students with an opportunity to use real world math skills to practice both identifying and using measuring cups in a functional manner. Being able to use measuring cups correctly is an important life skill that many special education students struggle with. Help them practice reaching mastery of this topic with this interactive activity. Two separate levels are included with your purchase. The first level has students simply identify the correct measuring cup or spoon from a visual list. The second level asks students to "build" different measurement amounts on the screen. Please note that this activity is specifically designed for special education students who are working on real world math skills. If a prompt asks the student to build "3/4 cups," the only answer that will be marked correct is using three 1/4 cups and not variations like a 1/2 cup and 1/4 cup which require significantly higher math skills. Students will work through each prompt and practice both identifying and functionally using the measuring cups and spoons to simulate cooking and measuring items online. This is a great tool to help increase student mastery and build confidence in their ability to cook independently on their own as well!
