Description

Students will map the sounds in two-syllable V/VC (Tiger) words. Each word will be practiced in two ways: At the top of the first page, a Tiger word is represented by a picture. The student taps on the picture to hear the word. Next, the student taps on the left tiger to hear the first syllable. The student then drags the paws/graphemes one at a time into the box above. As each paw is dragged, the student hears the sound for the grapheme. This process is repeated again for the second syllable: tap the right tiger to hear the syllable, then segment that syllable by dragging the graphemes on at a time into the box above. Upon completion, the student can then click the picture at the top again to hear the complete word before submitting and going on to the next page. On the second page, the student hears the same word. The paws are already in the box, but the graphemes have been removed. The student can still click on tigers or paws to hear syllables or phonemes. The student must type in the word, one syllable at a time.
