This deck includes 20 phrasal verbs that deal with cooking and eating. I’ve made it for my advanced ESL students, but works for younger native speakers too. Each card has a definition and four possible answers. Students simply click on the correct reply. dig in -- to begin eating excitedly (informal) water down -- to dilute, use liquid to diminish strength or thickness polish off -- to finish consuming something completely bite off -- to remove something with your teeth warm up -- to raise the temperature of something mix in -- to combine ingredients eat out -- to go to a restaurant for a meal cool down -- to allow the temperature of something to drop chop up -- to cut something into pieces slice off -- to cut a small part out from a larger one turn up -- to increase the power of something guzzle down -- to drink a large amount of something very quickly whip up -- to make or prepare something very quickly dish out -- to serve food onto plates or into bowls thaw out -- to defrost something flavor with -- to give something a particular taste boil over -- to heat liquid to the point where it overflows from a pan, pot, etc. pig out -- to eat way too much of something (informal) pick at -- to eat a small amount of food, without much interest chow down -- to eat, often quickly or enthusiastically (informal) I have four other phrasal verb decks that are available individually or in a bundle!
