Description

This deck contains a visual support to provide the strategies for how to respond to verbal bullying and teasing for early learners. It teaches general strategies for what to do and what not to do, and provides many examples. There are multiple knowledge checks throughout, in order to assist with data collection. Please be aware Lisneyland has 2 different Bullying decks. This is a simple version with straight-forward language. The other deck, called How to Respond to Teasing and Bullying, covers more advanced topics such as sarcasm and uses more advanced language. Note: this protocol is most effective when followed by role-play practice sessions. If your learner tends to respond in an emotional manner, start by allowing your learner to play the part of the bully. As a next step, when you play the part of the bully, use statements that do not directly push any of your learner's "hot buttons" so they get multiple practice sessions without emotional triggers.
