Description: This nighttime themed deck focuses on teaching your student to make equivalent fractions. The cards gives lots of varied practice for these standards: CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.NF.A.3 Explain equivalence of fractions in special cases, and compare fractions by reasoning about their size. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NF.A.1 Explain why a fraction a/b is equivalent to a fraction (n × a)/(n × b) by using visual fraction models, with attention to how the number and size of the parts differ even though the two fractions themselves are the same size. Use this principle to recognize and generate equivalent fractions. The deck begins with an instructional card and then works students toward more and more challenging equivalent fractions examples. There are 55 exercises in all! There are examples for students for compare by using: ◉ fraction models ◉ fractions on number lines ◉ multiplication by a fraction equivalent to one whole (ex. 2/3, 3/3,...) All drag and drop cards are set to randomize the fractions so the deck can be played again and again until students master the skill. You may choose to use the "hide card" feature in Boom™ if you want to differentiate or expose the students to only the easiest or hardest cards and at any different times. I hope you students enjoy and learn from these cards as mine did. -Shane MATH IS FUNdamental
