Description: Wolf’s Chicken Stew (40 pages) written by Keiko Kasza is an adorable predictable book about a wolf who wants to capture a chicken, but instead cooks for the chicken and her baby chicks! This a great book for 100th day and other themes throughout the year. Goals: 1. Recall parts of the story after watching a video or reading the story together. 2. Following directions - many pictures are interactive and can be moved around the slide. There are instructions that students can follow on several of the slides. Make up your own instructions too. 3. Semantic concepts - there are spatial (on top, in front, in back, in between, under) and size concepts (bigger, biggest, shorter, shortest, tallest, smallest, same, plural S) 4. Sequence 8 pictures from the story. 5. Play I Spy - give descriptions and find the donuts being described 6. Opportunities for predictions and social language - there are thought bubbles throughout the story - you can ask students what are the animals thinking? 7. Speech sounds- palatal CH (chicken, chicks, lunch, search, chocolate), DR(sounds like J when blended together (hundred)and SH (delicious, shucks, shoulder, fish)
