This deck has two sets of activities that provide practice distinguishing between words with long vowels using silent e and words with short vowels. The first 24 slides: Students will read the word and choose the correct picture. Each slide has a picture of a word with short vowel and a long vowel (rat/rate, pin/pine, tap/tape, etc.) Next 30 Slides: Students will look at a word and decide if it makes a real word with silent e or without silent e. Students need to be able to read CVC words, word with the digraph ck, and silent e words to complete this deck.
