Description: An excellent online game for practicing r-controlled spellings or, ore, aur, oar, and er. Students break up and determine the number of syllables, identify the number of letters and sounds in a word, choose the correct spelling, and identify the correct corresponding picture for the word. Definitions are provided on the picture page. A great way to connect phonics and vocabulary. This game is completely self correcting, so learners get automatic feedback. Enjoy! :) Please note: the number of sounds are determined by comparing various, American English dictionaries. The patterns or, ore, aur, and oar are counted as two sounds. I teach them as the short o and the r come together to make two original sounds that sound like the word "or". I hope this helps! Have fun!
