Vocalic-Consonantal /r/ Word Pairs - Phase 2: Sentence Level

Description: Using the same word pairs featured in Phase 1, the cards in this deck increase the complexity from the word pair level to the sentential level. This approach is for older students/clients who have acquired consonantal /r/ at the beginning of the syllable, but who continue to struggle with syllable final/vocalic /r/. I developed these word pairs and the companion sentences while working with a high school student who presented with a lovely, correctly produced consonantal /r/ at the beginning of syllables, but who just couldn't quite get the placement for vocalic /r/ at the end of syllable. So, I decided to try something different. In an effort to work smarter, not harder for both of us, I used what the student *could do* to help them bridge the gap with vocalic /r/. And, it worked. Beautifully. There are 20 sentences containing the word pairs from Phase 1 which are set to randomize. I've used these word pairs with literate students as young as 4th grade. These word pairs are Phase 2 of a 2-phase program. The first phase includes these same word pairs at the word pair level. As always, thank you for your support.
