Description: This is an interactive, no-prep activity to help students build their knowledge of basic concepts HOT/COLD by identifying attributes and increasing MLU using visual sentence strips! Students are provided with a question "what is hot? or "what is cold?" Students are presented with visual sentence starters "the ___ is hot" or the ___ is cold" and given 3 visual choices (e.g. sun, ice, snowman). Students are asked to drag and drop the correct noun that fills the sentence. This helps students form utterances such as "the sun is hot" or "the ice is cold." Some of the following EP goals can be targeted during the activity: - Expanding Utterances & Increasing MLU - Attributes Hot/Cold (identifying & labeling) - WH questions - Describing (e.g. color, attributes, color, adjectives, function, etc.)
