Description: Practicing consonant -le syllables has never been more engaging! This resource includes 95 cards broken down into 5 decks (audio included when applicable). Each deck scaffolds and supports students as they progress to the next skill. Deck #1 - Sorting C+le and NOT C+le Syllables. Students sort a series of words and syllables based on word/syllable ending. This deck helps students master the difference between C+le and other syllable types and forces them to pay close attention to the placement of the vowel(s) and consonants in each syllable. Deck #2 - Segmenting Words into Syllables: Students listen to each word in order to identify the 1st and 2nd syllable in that word. Deck #3 - Spell The Missing Syllable: Students drag and drop the letters needed to correctly spell the missing C+le syllable in each word. This deck draws student's attention to the structure of C+le syllables (that C+le syllables are always at the end of the word and have C + le). Deck #4 -Dividing Words into Syllables: This deck gives students ample practice with the C -le syllable pattern. Students use the "count back 3 and split" strategy to select the correct way to divide each word. Deck #5: Reading 2-Syllable Words: This deck pulls everything together. Students drag and drop a syllable bar to correctly divide each word. Students label each syllable as open, closed, C+le. Finally, they use their syllable knowledge to read the word and select the picture that matches.
