This 33-card Scavenger Hunt will teach students about the life and accomplishments of the Underground Railroad Conductor Harriet Tubman. While completing this hunt, students will learn about her early life, her role in the Underground Railroad as well as the Civil War, and what she did in her later years. While completing the hunt, students answer 16 multiple-choice questions. First, they read a question and its possible answers. Then they read a passage where the information to answer the question is found. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next slide. If they choose an incorrect answer, they can revisit the passage to find the correct one. The final slide challenges students to list 3 things they learned from the hunt. It can be used as A Black History Month activity, a supplement to a study of U. S. history, to provide background information for a story, to practice reading informational text, for history or reading centers, or as an easy activity for a sub.
