It’s laundry day! 🧦 Help match up the socks while practising syllabic blending! In this phonological awareness activity, 2-syllable words are split across two socks. Learners match a first syllable with a second syllable, blend the syllables together, and decide whether they have made a real word. Take it one step further by encouraging learners to explain what the word means when they successfully create a real word. This helps connect phonological awareness with vocabulary and reinforces the idea that putting parts of a word together creates something meaningful. Like the other resources in this series, this deck is designed to be simple, flexible, and easy for the SLP or educator to control. You can provide as much or as little support as needed and adjust the pace to suit your learner.
