Description: This is a 39-card high-interest scavenger hunt that can be used to keep students engaged and learning during the Halloween season. In this hunt, students will learn how many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll Center of a Tootsie Roll Pop, what name Candy Corn was first called, why Life Savers were created, and more. To complete the hunt, students are presented with 19 multiple-choice questions. Then they read the information that will help them answer the questions. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If their answer is incorrect, they can reread the text to find the correct answer. The final card in the hunt requires students to write 3 interesting things they learned in the hunt. It can be used as a Halloween activity, to enhance the understanding of a story, or practice for reading informational text.
