This is a 36-card scavenger hunt that covers the history of Black Americans from the time they were brought to America as slaves to today. While completing this hunt, students will learn who is considered the Father of Black History, what the slave codes were, why there was a Great Migration of African Americans to the North, and more. To complete the hunt, students are presented with a question with some possible answers. Then they read a passage where the information can be found. They receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the hunt challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned about Black History. The hunt can be used as a Black History Month activity, as a supplement to a study of Black History in America, as practice for reading informational text or as an easy lesson for a sub.
