Help transition students get ready for a work shift by following clear, stated workplace expectations. Ready for My Shift teaches learners to check a sample employer's directions, select clothing and closed-toe shoes, prepare hygiene routines, bring and wear their own identification, pack required supplies and communication supports, and use a final readiness checklist. Learners also practice asking for clarification, reporting a missing item, and requesting an accessible uniform option. The 42-card lesson follows six predictable cycles: 24 teaching cards, 12 text-only multiple-choice questions and six image-identification questions. Designed for high school special education, young adult transition, vocational skills, life skills and job readiness instruction. Use for whole-class discussion, small groups, supported independent practice, pre-employment preparation or review before a community work experience. Reading demands are reduced while situations remain age-appropriate.
