Description
Use this activity to target the complex, 2-element consonant cluster /sl/ in initial word position. There is an opportunity for at least 50 productions if each word is practiced one time. According to the Complexity Approach and the Sonority Sequencing Principle for Clusters, /sl/-blends are considered complex clusters because of the sonority difference. For further information on sonority difference, read Gierut’s 1999 paper titled Syllable Onsets: Clusters and Adjuncts in Acquisition.
