Description
This 25-card scavenger will teach students about the history and traditions associated with Veterans Day. While completing the hunt, students will learn the history behind the day, changes it has gone through, and interesting facts about U. S. veterans. To complete the hunt, students answer 12 multiple choice questions. First, they read a question and its possible answers. Then they read a passage where the answer is found. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If they choose an incorrect answer, they can revisit the passage to find the correct one. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. This hunt can be used to teach students about Veterans Day, to practice reading informational text, to provide background information for a story, as a social studies or reading center, or as an easy activity for a sub.
