Suffixes Increasing students knowledge of suffixes enables them to read multisyllabic, complex words. This deck focused on reading the common suffixes -ing, -ful, and -s/-es in order to improve students decoding, spelling, vocabulary, and comprehension. For each suffix, the following activities are included: 1) Match the word to the picture 2) Spell the word from a set of choices 3) Spell the word without clues 4) Read the sentences and isolate the suffixes 5) Read the sentence and select the picture that matches CCSS: RF. 2.3d Decode words with common prefixes and suffixes.
