Description
Let's go on a safari adventure to practice identification of emotions in a field of 3! With the help of some fun baby animals, you will travel around the map earning badges with Park Ranger Tia to become to a Junior Safari Ranger. You will have 15 opportunities to identify the following emotions: happy, sad, frustrated, calm, silly, angry, excited, tired, embarrassed, bored, confused, nervous, surprised, shy and scared. Possible targets: 1. Receptive language skills- listening + identification practice. 2. Pragmatic skills- Understanding non-verbal social cues (e.g., body language, facial expressions). 3. Social skills- Emotion recognition helps students learn to interpret and have empathy for others. 3. Inferencing & perspective taking- You can ask students to guess why an animal may feel the way they do. 4. Labeling- Students may select as well as label the animal in question. 5. Describing- Students also have the opportunity to describe how the other animals are feeling using simple sentences.
