Drag and drop the letters (graphemes) to the sound boxes. 3. Trace the word using their finger as they say each letter name aloud (part of the research-based practice), then press Submit. Phoneme-Grapheme Mapping is a researched based spelling strategy to help students retain spelling by tapping sounds, studying patterns, and letters that don't play by the rules. I created this product line because I had students who needed to actually learn to read and spell the sight words. Since many are not phonetically spelled, I needed the words to be read to them.
