Description: This deck is a whimsical way to practice listening and pitch-matching skills. Students listen to the big monster’s "song", then touch each of the colorful small monsters to hear its pitch. Each small monster is then dragged to the correct box to copy the melody. All melodies are based on the first 4 notes of the C major scale, at a range that is comfortable to sing. Students may hear the featured melody as many times as they wish, or listen once and sing it back for extra ear and pitch training. This is a great beginning ear training activity, as all melodies are only 3 notes long, and contain only steps (2nds) skips (3rds) and repeated notes. There are audio and written instructions for how to play, and a demonstration card at the beginning of each play through. These are followed by 10 randomized cards so that the student experiences a different game every time they play. All cards have been optimized for visual accessibility, and include alt-text and tab navigation, The drag and drop features are large to accommodate various degrees of motor ability, but may not be suitable for all students who need motor accommodations. This deck pairs well with beginning piano methods such as PIano Safari Friends, Piano Safari, Piano Adventures, Alfred, Bastien and more. Great for music classes, online or in-person music lessons, band class and home-schooling.
