Description: Are you at the end of your fractions unit and looking for a highly engaging review? This deck will get your students up and moving, while reviewing mixed numbers, improper fractions, adding fractions, and subtracting fractions. This is a great review lesson for fractions, and should take your students 20-30 minutes, depending on their ability. This lesson is set up for students to review adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators and improper fractions and mixed numbers. Students will “visit” four cities during the race: Boston, Austin, Salt Lake City, and Denali. In each city students will complete a series of math problems and a physical task. Once they complete the math problems they can click submit to check for accuracy. If they are correct, they may move onto the next country. After all four cities are complete, students complete The Amazing Math Race by taking two (very careful) laps around the class room. This activity is set up to review the concepts, but to also get the kids moving.
