This is an interesting 33-card scavenger hunt that can be used to teach students about Earth Day and the impact it has had on the environment worldwide since it began. While completing this hunt students will learn who founded Earth Day and why he did it, when the first Earth Day occurred, the impact Earth Day has had on the environment, and more. To complete the hunt, students read a multiple-choice question. Then they read a short passage that will help them answer the question. Students receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. This hunt can be used as an Earth Day activity, for reading/science centers, as practice for reading informational text, or as an easy lesson for a sub.
