Description: Your students will love sliding the flaps to help the kids find the recyclable objects. This book targets functional vocabulary, MLU, yes/no questions, and more! It has three interactive elements to keep your students engaged! (slide-able flaps, move-able pieces, & move-able picture symbols) Read the book to the student. At the top of each page, the student is to look in the grass to see if the object is on the recycling list. The student is then prompted to slide the grass and look. They will then answer yes/no (verbally and pointing to the symbol). The student then will match the picture symbols to the box (by sliding the picture in the box with their mouse or finger) in the phrase and verbalize the phrase (“I found a _____”). I always encourage verbalizing throughout this whole activity. At the end the student will drag all of the recyclable items on the list into the bin.
