This deck includes four types of division word problems that require students to interpret remainders in real-world contexts. Each word problem has a space for writing calculations using the draw tool (ink feature). Interpreting remainders division word problem formats: 1. Ignoring the Remainder (Drop it) Example: A store is restocking for a big sale and has 47 T-shirts to display. Each shelf can hold 9 T-shirts. How many shelves can they fully stock? 2. Share it Example: Talisa checked her bag and found $22. She wanted to give each of her friends an equal share as a treat. How much did she give each friend? 3. The remainder as the answer (how much would be left over) Students determine the amount left after forming equal groups. Example: 95 crayons shared among 4 tables — how many remain? 4. Adjusting the answer based on the remainder (Round it) Students decide whether the situation requires using the remainder, increasing the quotient, or ignoring the remainder. Example: 128 students and buses that hold 20 — how many buses are needed? The deck includes one-step, two step, and multi-step real-world problems aligned to CCSS 4.OA.A.3.
