Description: An engaging Superhero themed set of CVC Nonsense Word* practice with the letters, O, A, D, G, C, T, M. After audio instructions are read out loud on the first card, students listen to a CVC nonsense word* and drag the beginning, medial, and ending sounds into place. There are 15 cards in the deck (including the instruction card) and, when assigned with a premium Boom Learning account, the default number of cards in play each time is ten (the instruction card, plus nine cards out of the deck) and the cards are played in random order so each play will be unique. *In the deck, the ‘nonsense words’ are referred to as, “word chunks” because, in my experience, many students become frustrated with spelling ‘nonsense words.’ When I have pointed out to these students that they are actually learning, “word chunks” or “parts of words,” their frustration is lessened.
