Description: This Boom Card activity is a fun and engaging way for students to understand and practice how to express a fraction with a denominator of 10 as an equivalent fraction with a denominator of 100 and use this technique to add two fractions. The beginning cards provide grids to show if the parts are partitioned to be 10 times as small, there will then be 10 times as many total parts. Students are then given cards to practice this before using the technique to add. There are 30 total cards with drag and drop, multiple choice, and fill in the blank features.
