Description: This "Feed the Monster" activity is designed to teach about the sense of taste. The monster visits the restaurant, and the chef brings him some yummy things and some very questionable items! Your student can feed the monster to see if the monster thinks the item is yummy or yucky. Clues are provided via audio clip and the monster's facial expression. Your student can then identify if the food was yummy or yucky and manually drag the correct word to the sentence strip. The sentence strip provides a visual cue for increasing mean length of utterance and producing 3 word syntactically correct sentences. Your student will have loads of fun listening to the monster gobbling up his preferred foods and expressing distaste for the "yucky" items. 46 cards are included in the deck, and 15 different food/non-food items are incorporated. Bonus tip: Work on yes/no questions to identify if items are a food, negation concepts (e.g., "NOT" a food), and pragmatic skills (e.g., social inferencing.
