In this 52-card Boom Cards activity, students choose from three playground characters and participate in realistic conversations about pretend play, basketball, and dinosaurs. For each interaction, students will compare three possible responses and identify the best, worst, and okay conversational choices. Students will also examine the character’s facial expression and body language, identify the emotion being shown, consider what the character may be thinking, and learn how different responses can help continue—or unintentionally end—a conversation.
