Description: This boom card activity supports students to think about their audience and step outside of their own thinking when generating persuasive statements. In my experience, students are often able to generate opinions on a topic which relates to them but need more support to generate ideas which best relate to their audience or conversational partner. In this activity students are given a statement about dogs and asked to decide which person this argument would best be used to convince (e.g., a grandmother, police officer etc.) Students must think about what information the other person would value.
