This is an interactive no-prep spring themed activity contains the hot and cold items. Students are able to sort items into hot vs. cold flower pots. After, students are able to increase MLU with hot vs. cold concepts. The following 2 levels are included in this activity: 1) Sorting Hot vs. Cold 2) Expanding Utterances: - Students are provided with a question "what is hot? or "what is cold?" Students are presented with visual sentence starters "the ___ is hot" or the ___ is cold" and given 3 visual choices (e.g. sun, ice, snowman). Students are asked to drag and drop the correct noun that fills the sentence. This helps students form utterances such as "the sun is hot" or "the ice is cold." Some of the following goals can be targeted during this activity: - Expanding Utterances & Increasing MLU - Basic Concepts (e.g. sorting, identifying, labeling) - Following Directions with Basic Concepts - Describing (e.g. color, attributes, color, adjectives, function, etc.)
