Description: Guide students through solving composite figures step-by-step with these Boom Cards! As a follow up to finding the missing sides of composite figures, students will calculate the volumes of irregular composite figures by decomposing and solving to find the volume of each prism. Then, students will add the volumes together to find the total. The cards require students to find BOTH individual volumes before calculating the total volume of the figures. All problems have at least one missing side length. In this deck: 10 practice problems where students solve to find the volumes of prism A and prism B, as well as the total volume of each figure (A + B = total). Standard: 33.MD.5_c recognize and calculate volume as additive when volumes of solid figures composed of two non-overlapping right rectangular prisms by adding the volumes of the non-overlapping parts, applying this technique to solve real world problems.
