Description: This is a 34-card Scavenger Hunt that covers the life and accomplishments of Rosa Parks. While completing this hunt, students will learn what type of environment Rosa grew up in, why she refused to give up her bus seat, what happened after she refused to give up her bus seat, and more. To complete the hunt, students are presented with a question with some possible answers. Then they read a passage where the information can be found. They receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned about Rosa Parks. It can be used as a Black History Month activity, a social social studies lesson, to enhance a study of the civil rights movement, or as a reading activity. It is great for building background for a reading lesson, practicing for reading informational text, an independent center activity, or as an easy lesson for a sub.
