Description: Your students will love looking in the cage to see if they can find a pet! This book targets functional vocabulary, MLU, and more! It has three interactive elements to keep your students engaged! (slide-able flaps, moveable picture symbols, and moveable animal pieces). The student will decide if each animal is a pet or not. Read the book to the student. At the top of each page, the student is asked to look in the cage and determine if the animal is a pet or not (they will slide the cage over to reveal the animal). They will then answer yes/no by selecting yes or no (the buttons are self-checking). Encourage them to verbalize if they are able. The student then will match the picture symbol to the box in the sentence strip (by dragging the correct symbol) and if they are able, verbalize the phrase (“I found a _____”). This is self-checking too. At the end of the book, the student will drag all of the pets to the house.
