This boom card activity targets supporting students develop awareness of skills that maintain conversations - keep the conversation going. Students are provided a behaviour/skill and asked to identify if this supports conversational maintenance or is likely to stop the conversation. When working with students it is important to have them reflect and role play these social/pragmatic language skills and think about how they impact communication.
