Hispanic Flags and Colors

Description: This BOOM Deck can be used during Hispanic Heritage Month to teach the flags of the 21 Spanish speaking countries. First, students will review the basic colors and symbols used to describe the flags. Then, they will read and select the correct country’s flag. There are four different sets of flags, which include a maximum of six flags each. The descriptions of the flags progress in difficulty as they go through the cards. I have chosen many cognates in the descriptions to help the students feel successful in the learning process. As the descriptions of the flags become more difficult, I have also included support vocabulary with definitions at the bottom of each card. Finally, students will identify each country’s flag through a series of multiple-choice questions. This could easily serve as a quiz at the end of the lesson. Note: This lesson includes a table of contents, so teachers can assign only one or two parts at a time. THIS DECK INCLUDES: -Basic colors and Symbols.
