Description: This is a 33-card Scavenger Hunt that can be used to as a review or to teach students about the California Gold Rush. In this hunt, students will learn who discovered the gold, how miners panned for gold, why the gold rush ended, and more. To complete the hunt, students are presented with 16 multiple-choice questions. Then they read the information that will help them answer the questions. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If their answer is incorrect, they can reread the text to find the correct answer. They receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned about the Gold Rush. The hunt can be used to enhance a study of western expansion, as practice for reading informational text and is an easy lesson for a sub.
