Renaming/partitioning/regrouping numbers to 10,000. Practise seeing numbers made in different ways, not just in the standard expanded form. Students choose from two possibilities. Provide hands on resources, such as base ten blocks, to support if required. This can be a difficut concept for some children to understand but an important one.
