Description: This deck helps you practice the correct production of /r/ in the initial position of words. You'll find 4 free tic-tac-toe boards to practice /r/ in very specific phonetic environments. Each game board provides you with one context - /ri/ (as in read), /rɪ/ (as in rip), /reɪ/ (as in rain) and /rɛ/ (as in rest). Each board focuses on one specific /r/ combination - and all target words on that board begin with the same sound sequence. When practicing any new sound - context is key!! By pairing /r/ with vowels that are produced with high jaw position and lip retraction, we are providing our clients with the optimal context for which to elicit their best /r/. Once the client can successfully produce a good /r/ in easier contexts - it's time to move on to more challenging situations such as combining /r/ with "oo" (as in room). Enjoy this free set!
