Description: Ahh Monster!!! is a card game that targets speech sounds. Included are six card games containing 10 words beginning with initial /g/. Target words in cards 1 to 3: guitar, gold, go, gum, garbage Target words in cards 4 to 6: ghost, goal, gift, girl, gate Words are focused on in a group of five to benefit learners who require repeated practice of a small variety of target words. The position of the card illustrations are different on each task card so learner's don't know where to find the monster on every turn. Game option one: -Player one moves a star card to the discard pile to reveal the card hidden underneath -Player one names the illustration on the card an agreed number of times -Player one continues to move star cards to the discard pile until a monster card is found -When a monster card is revealed the player calls out “AHH MONSTER!!” -It is now player twos turn -The game continues changing between players every time a monster card is found until all the cards have been revealed Game option two: -Each player takes a turn moving a star card to the discard pile to reveal the card hidden underneath and naming the illustration -The player who finds the most monster cards throughout the game is the winner Extension Activity: Each time a monster card is revealed the player names all the cards that are showing Ah Monster!
