Description: Use these cards to help teach your students how to produce the final "er" sound by using coarticulation with initial /r/ words. Fully manipulative and easy to understand. Great for initially eliciting those tricky vocalic-r sounds! Use this deck to work on coarticulation with final vocalic "er" words. On each slide, pull one of the tabs over to the square drop zone on the right. This will give you the initial /r/ word your child/ student will be using to help produce their final "er" word on the movable card. Slowly move the card down and have them say each shortened version of the /r/ word until they are able to say their final "er" using the same tongue position as their solid initial /r/. For example, with "Race", they will say "doctor-race, doctor-ray, doctor-r". Each step will get them to a closer approximation of the word on the card. This deck will be most effective when a child/ student is able to accurately and consistently produce most initial /r/ words. Choose the ones on the left that they are most competent with. There will soon be a deck for all of the vocalic-r sounds!
