This boom card deck supports students understand that conversations can have different tones, and our comments can match the tone of the conversation. E.g., if someone is telling us sad news we can make a caring comment e.g., “I’m sorry to hear that.” The boom card deck focuses on responding to a conversational partners sad/upsetting news with a caring comment. Teaching cards are included. Followed by task cards. On each task card students are provided a statement and asked to select a caring comment to respond.
