Description: If you use Orton-Gillingham and follow the sequence from Recipe for Reading, then you will want this practice deck for a special exception to closed syllables. These special patterns have a long vowel sound before a final blend. Students will hear a word ending in -old, ild, -ind, -olt, -ost. They will hear a sentence using the word, ask to repeat the word, and hear the word again. Students will type the word into a blank space and check their answers. There are 15 cards in play at a time out of 22 total cards.
